ANNOUNCING NEW SCHEDULE FOR THE CREEK CONNECTION
The Creek Connection newsletter is now published on a weekly basis each Thursday. Be the first to know about new events and activities by receiving The Creek Connection in your email inbox. If you are not receiving it by email and would like to be added to the list, contact the church office or make a note on your Connect Card in the bulletin. There will be a limited supply of printed newsletter on Sunday. Each week there will be announcements, upcoming events, church vitals, thank you, etc. Every four weeks the newsletter will include an article from our Senior Pastor and one from the Cultural Impact Ministry Team.
FEED THE HUNGER - WE NEED YOU!
Saturday, June 2 - 9:00 am, will you partner with us? in the FLC. Last year we packed 10,000 meals in 2 hours. This year we hope to surpass that number! The more folks that turn out to help pack the more meals we can pack. FTH’s tagline is “More Than Just a Meal” - with every meal, the gospel is shared. This is an event everyone can participate in. The food packs are distributed globally - from our own backyard to around the world. Join us as we prepare food packs for those in need of both food and Jesus. WE NEED 120 PEOPLE TO HELP PACK THE MEALS. There will be tasks for people of all abilities.
It only costs $ .28 per meal and as we know “It’s more than a meal!” Will you partner with us?
- $1,400 sponsors a packing station AND will feed a family of 4 for a full year!
- $ 613 will feed a mom and her 3 children 3 times a day for a full year!
- $ 280 will provide 1,000 meals and help equip leaders to share the gospel!
- $ 100 will provide dinner to one person for a full year!
- $ 67 will ensure a school child has lunch every single day at school!
MEET THE CHILDREN'S MINISTER CANDIDATE
Sunday, June 3 - 9 am - Meet and Greet followed by Q & A - Join Terra Thompson in the children’s ministry area, JAM room. Then Terra will share her testimony in the 11 am worship celebration. At the end of that service, we will have a special called business meeting for a vote to extend an offer to Terra to assume the role as Pole Creek Children’s Minister.

NURSING HOME MINISTRY TEAM SEEKING NEW MEMBERS
The Pole Creek Nursing Home Ministry Team is seeking new members. No age requirement! Love to sing and share the love of Jesus through song? Join our team! VBS 2018 - GAME ON - GEARING UP FOR LIFE'S BIG GAME
Sunday, June 24 through Thursday, June 28, 6 pm to 8:30 pm. This year’s theme is “GAME ON” GEARING UP FOR LIFE’S BIG GAME. Our motto verse is 2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” (CSB) Ages Kindergarten through Senior Adults. Nursery & Pre-K will be provided for children whose parent is attending VBS Adult Study or volunteering. This year’s finale is going to be AWESOME!!

CHURCH SOFTBALL LEAGUE SCHEDULE
Spring is here and it is softball season. The Pole Creek Men’s Team has a game next week on Thursday, May 31, at 7 pm, against Crossroads. BUNCOMBE CHURCHES SUPPORT BAPTISTS ON MISSION
Recently Paul Langston, Mission Mobilization Consultant with NC Baptist Men/Baptists on Mission, sent an email to Perry Brindley, Director of Missions, Buncombe Baptist Association to express thanks to the Buncombe Baptist Churches for their support to NC Mission Offerings last year (2017). Perry shared the email with us. Mr. Langston stated it was a great year and because of this support volunteers were able to minister through Disaster Relief, 5 National and 7 International Partnerships, Mobile Health Screening and Dental Ministries. Deep Impact and Deep Impact Kids Mission Weeks, and Mission Camps in Red Springs and Shelby.
North Carolina Baptist Men / Baptist on Mission (NCBM) wants to thank the churches for their continual prayer support, their volunteer involvement, and their financial support through the NC Missions Offering and gifts designated to NCBM. None of these ministries of NCBM would be possible without this type of involvement and support.

FUNDRAISER - BBQ & SILENT AUCTION
Saturday, June 2, 11 am to 7 pm, in honor of Noah McFall, age 9, has been battling Cystic Fibrosis his whole life. Due to complications from the disease he desperately needs a liver transplant and possibly a double lung transplant. No insurance plan covers all transplant-related expenses which can range between $250,000 to $800,000. Montmorenci UMC has partnered with Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) in an effort to help the family. $10 Adults and Kids 12 & under $5.
